TIGI, the Honeycomb Collector company, has completed another installation for provision of water for an industrial system in Israel.
TIGI, the Honeycomb Collector Company, today announced that it had completed another Commercial Hot Water installation.
Following the success of TIGI’s system in Kibbutz Izre’el’s Kitchen, and after demonstrating its system’s success in another industrial laundry, Kibbutz purchased another installation of TIGI’s system in their commercial laundry.
The system – a 55 m² collector array provides heat for laundry hot water use of 5 m³ of water at 80 °C. In sunny summer days the system is designed to supply ~100% of the energy needs of the laundry. If needed, additional energy is provided by an on-line gas heater. The year round savings of gas is estimated at 70%.
The system’s economic analysis showed a very short return on investment (ROI) of approximately 4 years after which the savings paid the full cost of the system. The expected life term of the system is approx. 20 years. There is no subsidy for solar thermal installations in Israel.
Zvika Klier, TIGI’s CEO, said “We are very proud and enthusiastic about Izre’el’s decision to install another system of ours. This shows the confidence gained by using our first system in their Kitchen, and has a great potential in replication of similar systems at other Kibbutz-type scenarios with similar needs. The profile of systems we install is growing to become significant for our customers and I believe others will follow to install similar systems in the coming future. We are confident that this system’s high performance will lead to significant savings and quick Return of Investment for the customer.”
TIGI developed a new type of highly efficient solar thermal collector and the first to provide a commercially viable solution for commercial / industrial target temperatures even in cold and temperate climates based on transparent insulation technologies. TIGI’s Honeycomb Collector can produce year-round heat energy at lower costs than any other known alternatives, including electricity and fossil fuels in domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
