Industrial Heat Pumps
TIGI and the Future of Heating Technology
TIGI, a leader in the heat sector, is at the forefront of advancing heat pump technology. Our large-scale, high-temperature heat pump systems represent a significant leap forward in today’s energy landscape, where efficiency and sustainability are paramount.
Understanding Heat Pumps
Heat pumps are a versatile heating/cooling technology that moves heat from one area to another. Unlike traditional methods that generate heat by burning fossil fuels, heat pumps move existing heat, making them 3-4 times more energy efficient. Key components include a compressor, condenser, evaporator, reversing valve, and expansion valve. In heating mode, the pump cycle starts with a refrigerant in the evaporator absorbing heat and transforming it into a gas. The system compresses this gas, raising its temperature and pressure. The hot gas passes through a condenser, releases heat, and liquifies. The refrigerant expands through a valve, cools, and returns to the evaporator, repeating the cycle.
Integration with renewable energy
Heat pumps leverage a small amount of external energy to extract and amplify heat. When integrated with renewable energy, such as electricity from PV/wind, they offer an eco-friendly heating method, further reducing the carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency.
